This blog deals with the serious and the slightly silly as one. "Serious and slightly silly!" you say. "Such stupid shenanigans are socially scarce!" (well, maybe you wouldn't make that rhyme, but you get what I mean.)
Well, I have for you two stories about politics (that dreaded word) that I think both sides of the aisle would agree are utterly, miserably, laughably ridiculous:
1) The United States Congress has declared Pizza to be a vegetable! So kids, when mom says eat your fruits and vegetables... yeah... Why this strange decision? Well, the reason they give is that pizza has so much tomato sauce it can qualify as a vegetable. The real reason? Well, we don't totally know, but public school cafeteria rules about needing vegetables, frozen pizza food corporation lobbying and politicians trying to ignore important decisions while doing stupid things might have something to do with it...
The only thing more ridiculous than that is
2) The European Union (the EU or a group of 27 independent European states working together), just ruled that, based on a three year study, water DOES NOT prevent DEHYDRATION, and so all businesses that claim it does will be fined if they continue to do so.... Do I really have to say more? The utter ridiculousness of spending three years and taxpayers money to come to the wrong conclusion to try and force businesses into paying fines is so messed up it's absurd to the point of being slightly amusing.
If you've heard any stories as seriously ridiculous as this, please feel free to post them in the comments section!
